 We talked about Corona Virus again. Prime Minister Abe declared to close all the public schools until the end this month. He is trying his best to calm down the spread of Corona Virus. Sounds like all the cities and towns are shut down. Most events with a group and concerts are canceled. Tourists visa to India will be nullified and will be restricted from entering to India. Due to the Corona Virus, the congestion of the train is getting much better.

Also we discussed about the article of the sneaker boom. In Japan, there is the second boom of sneaker. Since people tend to purchase things on line, counterfeit sneakers are sometimes on line. Fake busters genuine verdict whether sneakers are genuine and help customers feel comfortable their sneakers are not fake.

 In this class I introduced current problems regarding Corvid 19 related health matters.
The virus itself is genetically identified already. If the appropriate measures were taken ASAP, we can avoid serious conditions. I do hope the situation will soon get better.

 In this class I talked about Spanish flu which occurred 100years ago. My grandfather passed away at the age of 35, when my father was only 5years old. I imagine this event as if I am living in those days by current infectious diseases.

 We talked about Michinoeki, recent highway truck stops. They aren't modest like they used to be. There are soba restaurants, bakeries and even craft beer factories at highway truck stops. Some farmers sell their products at highway truck stops, but they need to find somebody to take over their farms since they are getting old.

Also, we find some patients of Corona Virus in Hokkaido and all the elementary schools and junior high schools are closed until the forth of March. This is the very first time in Japan.

 We talked about Corona Virus which started to increase exponentially.
The reason we are scared of is that we don't have much information about it and haven't found appropriate remedy for it. Hospitals which can treat patients of Corona Virus are limited. Some doctors went into Diamond Princess to examine patients were also transmitted to Corona Virus.

Also we talked about traditional Kabuki which recently has been changing more likely to rock concert.
They need to modernize their performance, we also need to modernize our perspectives and follow these changes.

At last, we talked about Biwa pearl. Now, Biwa pearl is being polluted and is put in danger. The pollution has impacted the pearl growth. We need to find the way to protect it from environmental changes. On the other hand, some people think pearl industry kills huge amount of pearls and affect ecosystem and the issue of peal industry is controversial.

 We mainly discussed about the issue of plastic wastes. Japan is infamous for its use of disposal plastic. Japanese shoppers use an estimated 30 billion plastic shopping bags a year. We have about 9 million tones of plastic waste each year.

 We mainly talked about the daughter of Princess Crown Prince Akishino, the younger brother of Emperor Naruhito. She and her fiancee announced their engagement in September 2017 and they were supposed to marry in February 2018, but their marriage was postponed due to the the dispute of her fiancee's mother over money. Also, we talked about the dispatch of Self Defense Troops to Persian Gulf region. By deciding to send the Maritime Self-Defense Force to the region, but exclude areas in the Strait of Hormuz and the Persian Gulf, Japan has secured endorsements on the dispatch from both the United States and Iran. Sending the Self-Defense Forces overseas is a politically sensitive issues because their activities are highly restricted by Article 9 of the war-renouncing Constitution.

 We talked about coronavirus spreading from China.
At this time World Health Organization hasn't declared the emergency of the virus yet because they don't have adequate information about it. However, the number of people infected to the virus is increasing and the virus is spreading all over the world. People in Wuhan City is being quarantined. We also talked about the climate issue Japan in trying to tackle. The year 2030 is the target of it.

 日本の文様についてお話ししました。唐草模様の風呂敷は江戸時代どこの家にもあって日本では泥棒さんのトレードマークになっていますが、元々、エジプトのツタが起源で中東を通じて日本に伝来したそうです。Wi-Fiは青海波をモデルにしているそうです。世界はつながっているのですね。

 We discussed about a shift to a reusable energy in Fukushima Prefencture.
Fukushima is trying its best to be independent on nuclear power plant by shifting to a reusable energy.
However, in order to achieve it, they have to have rows and rows of photovoltaic solar panels and aesthetics of their scenery. People living in the village are against the shift and trying to use media to declare the issue.

We also discussed about the Akasaka Palace. It mainly served as a venue for dozens of meetings between foreign dignitaries and President Abe. The most number of meetings held in a single day was 23 one-to-one talks with foreign leaders. It closed for the restoration work in 1968 and reopened in 1974. It welcomes 500,000 visitors annually.

 We mainly discussed about Iki island which is getting effects of climate changes and is trying to achieve one of SDGS. People at the island are trying to galvanize us into the action of protecting the environment. What they are attempting to do are using AI to cultivate asparagus and use drones to transport them to main island, Kushu.
