Today we talked about the article about the controversial Sumo incident which medic women were forced to leave the ring while they are helping the city mayor by CPR rescue. There are many problems in this incidents. We exchanged opinions. Regarding the words, I got interested in the difference between "clean" and "clense". Mark always points out deep meanings of each word for deeply understanding. It's fun. Thank you, Mark for interesting lessons. See you next time. |

We worked on the vocabulary list for Toeic as always and today was D words. Again many of the words had several meanings. Even with words I'm familiar with had many different meanings that I didn't know, so it was good to know new meaning of them. John helped me understand each word correctly when I misunderstood the meaning. Also when I had question he explained about it politely so I got all the meaning correctly for today. Thank you for the lesson and I'm looking forward to the next lesson. See you! |

Today we read an article about neuroscience study about how material structure of the brain determines how you rain affect how you make a risk-taking decisions. Although its title is a bit click-bait, the article was interesting. I learned some good vocabularies such as "dicey" (=risky), "rolling dice" (=taking the chance), "apprehension" (=anxiety),"sculpt"(=form),"fatter prize"(=larger prize), etc. Terry suggested reading an article about investment so that I could educate myself more about it. Thank you Terry. I cannot wait our next lesson. |

This is the first lesson with Ali. He spoke so politely and slowly that I can understand what he said. I had a good time with him and I found that we are very similar for example a favorite soccer team. We talked about ourselves and our introduction.Then, we talk about important points to understand foreign people and culture. I hope to have a lesson with Ali again. |
