Today, we talked about the article "Where do teachers get the most respect?" It's interesting that the more teachers are respected, the higher achievement students have. How about in Japan? The job of teaching is respected? Education is the most important job to make society better. Has enough tax money been spent in education? Today, I learned my unfamiliar words and phrases such as wel-regarded profession, perceived status and raise the profile,,,,,. Mark kindly explained the meanings with a lot of examples and other expressions. Thank you, Mark as always. Looking forward to having discussion on this article next lesson. |

I asked him to review my short speech for the next meeting. He corrected my grammatical mistakes and made several sentences more clear. I always ask his to check my speechs and I find it very helpful for me. But still I often make similar mistakes, especially missing prepositions is frustrating. Thank you for your help, as usual, Mark. See you! |

We talked about the article "Mass wildlife loss caused by human consumption". I learned how seriously we have continuted to hurt the environment of the earth by the data. In the last section, I had some questions to understand the meaning though, Mark explained to me the meaning with using understandable exapmles, that is even if the number of minor species declined, the whole number of creatures would never be influenced becuse the number of minor speacies is small. How much individual speacies are growing and shrinking. Thank you Mark, see you next lesson. |
