Today, I asked Mark to check my speech scriopt for improvement. Thanks to his suggestion, my speech has become sophisticated and natural. I found I often try to make English sentences by Japanese structure forcefuly, that is my bad habit, but Mark patiently improved them. Thank you, Mark and see you next lesson. |

Mark chose me an interesting article about an incident of a bus driver slapping a boy who hurled an insult to the bus driver. Mark explained my unfamiliar words and phrases understandably. This is a controversial incident. Violence should be definitely avoided. At the same time parents should teach their children good manners and behaviors. It's a good chance to think about descipline to children because it is necessary for my job. Thank you, Mark for picking up the interesting article and encouragin me. See you next lesson. |

Today, we talked about the article "Tackling food waste in Nigeria with an app". I was surprised to hear that one third of food in supermarkets are wasted because of expiring the shelf life aroud the world. However, in Nigeria, one IT engineer invented the app to connect the food that shops throw away with hungry epople in porverty, in corporation with NGOs. That's an amazing system. I found that IT could make our society better. Mark patiently listened to my opinion and paraphrased my words to more suitable ones and suggested any other ideas to inspired me. Thank you, Mark for interesting lessons as always. See you next lesson. |

We talked about the origins of human beings. The first human being was born in Africa. Then just 200 people started to travel to the North and Asia. Mark said TV programs prpduced by BBC are very good.Iagree with that. BBC is the government-run broadcasting like NHK in Japan. I knew that many rules in the country were from YK. |

We talked about equality for men and women through a topic of Naomi who won the US.Open in 2018. I was so happy about her victry that was first victry as a Japanese tennis player. And at the same time I was impressed by Williams protesting against the refree's decision. Who could any japanese women do that? Mark told me in even YK,the status of women was much lower 100 years ago. But women fought to get sex equality. I admire both Naomi and Williams. |
