In this lesson, we started reading a new article entitled 'Coming home after 130 years'. Because there were many Greece and Syrian names, it was difficult to pronounce them. But it was an interesting article again so I'm looking forward to read the rest. Thank you for the lesson and see you again soon! |

In the morning, before the class I watched old movies "Wuthering Heights" and " Jane Eyer" by Bronte. The main character of "Wuthring Heights" is Laurence Olivier. I could know how people in YK are proud of him. But for me he was only familier with Vivien Leigh in love. Mark said that Olivier was the gratest actor in the world. But for me "Scarlet O'Hara performed by Vivien Leigh is more impressive than olivier. It was very interesting topic though. |

Today we talked about how heros in the folktales were made.It was so interesting topics. At first I talked about mosquitos to Mark. Then suddenly Dracula occured to me.I thought that Dracula was from Czech. He taught me that Dracula was from Romania. He told that there is no monsters in Loch Ness. But I believe they are. I enjoyed talking with Mark in his class. |

I enjoyed Mark's first lesson. He set a real situation (e.g., my English co-worker is trying to skip the meeting, and asks me what to do), and did a role-play. I met some words that I know but cannot use during today's lesson (permission, approve, refuse, and skip). It's really helpful. Thank you for your lesson, and nice to meet you, Mark. |

I'm really sorry for my late response. We talked about the article that some European countries have passed the law banning wearing cloth which hide the face such as burka, Islamic clothing, because facial expression is one the most important value to communicate with each other in their life. That's an interesting law and I can understand it's natural. People who want to live in other countries should be integrated to the countries costomes, life style and value for some degree. Thank you for choosing the interesting topic as always. I really enjyoed the conversation. |

We continued reading an article from the last two lessons entitled 'I was a teacher for 17 year but couldn't read or write'. Because th article was a story, it was easy to understand. But still there were new words for me so I asked Mark to explain them to me. He uses examples when he describes meaning so it always helps me understand correctly. Thank you for the lesson and have a good week! See you soon. |
