Today, we had free conversation. First we talked about memory, when we forget something and the episodes. It was really fun. Then I asked Mark the story of the movie "Scent of the woman" with the leading character, Al Pacino. Mark kindly explained the story in details. I was satisfied that I've grab the reason why the main character boy was forced to go to the disciplinary committee. Thank you, Mark for giving many interesting ideas and inspiring me. See you next time! |

Today I talked about famous Czech composers,Dvorak and Smetana. They wrer very wellknown with their symphonies. Especially Dvorak's " From the new world" is very famous. No Japanese would'nt know that. Because school play this music after school saying "go home" I always enjoyed talking with him about cultures of Yk,Czech and any other EU countries. I feel more confident in English speaking than before.I thank Mark for helping me improve my English. |

Today, we talked about the article about Roma minority living in Italy who are looked down on by local people because they often commit crimes such as stealing because of the poverty. As they can't have enough education and jobs, they have to do bad things. This vicious circle is rooted in local pepole and even Roma people. And one politician is taking use of this bad situation to make people think that he protects citizens from them. Now he is planning to hold census to grab the number of Roma people. We talked about how to solve this serious problems. Mark always improves my words and phrases and explains what is a point in each article. Thank you, Mark for your kind and enthusiastic lesson. See you soon. |

But I feel disappointing to know that classocal musics are less popular than before. I wish I could know more about culture of Yk and Chec. |

Today, we talked about the article about crimes by using degital devices. People can easily disguise others to do something through e-mail and SNS. In Canada, some musician was deceived to fail getting scholarship by his girl friend's fake offer of refusing it, because she didn't want him to leave from her. The problem was that the girl friend he trusted committ a cyber crime. It's a little sad story, but these days, cyber crimes has happed often unexpectedly and love sometimes makes people do wrong things. Thank you for Mark, instructing new words and phrases and how to find a point of articles. See you next time. |

Today, we talked about the article about new line of suite for blue workers. It's a new idea to break down our conventional wisdoms that manual labor needs easily movable and rough clothing. By wearing formal attires, customers can have trustful image for workers. Thinking differently can create effective solutions. Mark explained my unfamiliar words and phrases with good examples and paraphrasing them. He also gives me interesting and helpful ideas as always. Thank you, Mark. I really appreciate your great lessons. See you next lesson soon. |

Today's article is about connection between palm oil and damage of envirnment. As I'm interested in articles treating envirnmental issues, Mark kindly chose me it. I've never known that palm oil is widely used in many products such as shampoo, cosmetics, ice cream, soaps etc. By planting many palm trees, local flora and fauna was displaced and diversity in nature has been kept lost. On the other side, vegetable oil is getting so popular and the demand of it is increasing. Furthermore, planting palm trees doesn't need larger space than othe vegetables such as soy, rapeseed and sunflower. So this problem has very complicated factors. Although there are so many unknow words and phrases, Mark patiently explaind me them easily to understand. And he gave me key points of this article. Thank you, Mark for the effective and iteresting lesson as always. See you soon! |

Today, Mark chose me the interesting article about a new idea to save marine life from pollution by plastic straws. Unexpectedly, there are so many people who are concerned about the environmental contamination. They choose more expensive straws made by paper, pasta and bamboos which are degraded in the sea, thhan cheaper plastic straws which hurt marine life. That's a noble action. Today, I memorized these sentences. "Public pressure is growing on MacDonald's to take steps in the U.S. similar to those it has taken in Britain." "Even companies not legally bound by the ban can no longer ignore people's concern about throwaway plastic." |

We continued to read the article we did in the last lesson. Mark tried very hard to explain what the author was saying, but I was not able to understand it clearly. I felt sorry for him, also I was embarrassed that I couldn't catch the meaning. Maybe I was too tired?! Thanks anyway for the lesson, Mark! See you soon! |

Lessons with teacher Mark are really fun. I could learn many things about YK through his lessons. Today's topic was about British cars, Rolls-royce,Jaguar,Land Rover that is the one he has. I had a new recongnition that the Industrial Revolution started in Britain first. I think Mark is a great teacher. Thank you! |
