After exchanging new year's greetings, we read an article about IBM. There were words and expressions I was not familiar with and Terry explained to me their defitions and how they are used. I learned "rolling your sleeves up" (meaning getting to work), "driving home"(making a point), "being on your own merits"(on your own credit, You've earned it", "taking something onboard" (you have to consider), and "coming full circle/cycle"(all the way back to where you started). I enjoyed our lesson! Thank you Terry. I am looking forward to talking to you next time. |

My daughter enjoyed your lesson. She seemed to have no problem in listening, but she is sometime too shy to speak. Thank you for your giving her assignment for the next time to make her speak more. She needs it. She said that she didn't know how to make agreeable response and she was just nodding all the time. Please teach her how to response and how to react, next time, in addition to your assignment. Thank you! |

At the beginning of the lesson, I talked about the events in the New Years days. In the end of them, I felt we need to make the most of our failures in our lives as lessons. Expanding the topics to social issues, I picked up the black companies issue which is controversial in the current work environment. Gabriel gave me a lot of information about other nations' style abroad. Some countries have achieved to build up comfortable work condition for employees. That's great and we should bring in the work styles. Thank you for the inspiring and helpful lesson as always. See you next time. |

I have lived in an apartment for many years, right below lives a man, he always slams the door brutally two or three times. It is a damn noisy. I guess he has a mental problem. We are afraid to complaim about it because he can become violent. I notice some people talking to themselves. Why there are many people having mental illnesses? I think that there several causes of mental illnesses, traumatic experiences such as natural disasters, divorces, death of one`s beloved family members or friends bring on mental suffering or emotional disorders, also failures in job hunting trigger depression or people who are isolated from society are affected as well. Tremenduos competition working environment or inordinate overtimes, excessive working, bulling in the school. Why this happens? I am sick of it. |

New year holidays are ending, holiday weight gain, tidy up decorations. What a hassle! Be prepared psychologically and physically to get back to work. Oh, What a pity! Today I learnt the word "easy peasy". I could incorpirate words and phrase in the sentences as "gab","shot the breeze","some other time","have a damage(wasted)"," dwell on","havoc",","opulent","haggle","extricate","shop around","scour","crack","Don`t get me wrong","like a boss","blockbuster epic","live it up","hit the booze","go counter","so be it","get in someone`s way","sacrifice","hash out","going by his face","monastery","It`s not to say that","ordial","may well","over the top","languish","outward" and so on. Nina, Thank you for today`s lesson, you are so charismatic, I love to hear your talk. See you soon. |
