インガー先生は、「クイズ」をIELTSスピーキングに使い回しています。「クイズ」はIELTSスピーキング対策としては的外れです。私には「クイズ」と称して、"airport"と書いた紙を提示し、5W1Hが重要だと称して、まずairportを定義することから始めるように求めました。しかし、このような出題は、IELTSでは、ありえないものです。インガー先生は、IELTSを教えるのが得意だとプロフィールに書かれていますが、私の印象は残念ながらその正反対でした。 Inger’s lesson was unbearable, appalling, and degrading. Although I asked her to practice IELTS speaking beforehand, she waisted student’s precious time by asking three meaningless “quizzes.” For instance, she asked me the definition of an airport, saying, “This is very close to IELTS part 2” - IELTS examiners would never ask such a question. She also humiliatingly stated, “Your answer is out of the topic. You did not mention the definition of an airport. You should be careful to define an airport. What is an airport? You should say, an airport is a huge building where airplanes depart and arrive.” The fact is that Inger’s “quizzes” were out of IELTS’s target. She said it was a “warmup.” However, she used 20 minutes on just one “quiz” on an airport. If a test taker states, “an airport is a huge building where airplanes depart and arrive” at IELTS speaking, the examiner would definitely penalize the test taker. |

Today, I showed 4 pictures of cherry blossoms. There are over 200 kinds of cherry trees in Japan. I’ve never heard of that. I found 3 kinds of cherry trees in a park around my area. By the way, Peter-sensei taught me how to pronounce “s”, “sh”. I’d like to pronounce well this sentence. “ I slit the sheet, the sheet I slit, and on the slitted sheet I sit. ” Tomorrow I’ll take his lesson again. |
