I got a real sense of history when we got to talk about English Civil War, I felt like I was going back in time to the 17th century and I presumed that John and I were surely deployed in the front row of the troop, in other words, cannon fodder.

John zipped through his duty and headed out to the adventure playground. He loves to play zip line, and today was not different, he zipped along the course many times back and forth. He always get hoarse from screaming too much on the zip line. John is a boy full of zip.

Abe loses out on Tokyo Olympics with resignation.
Abe called it "gut wrenching" to leave with so many plans unfinished. The most visible one at least to the public outside Japan was the Olympics.

Once upon a time, the old man in the moon visited our planet because he was desperately in need of sustenance. First on the scene was a monkey, closely followed by a fox and a rabbit. The monkey immediately dashed off through the trees and return with an armful of fruit, and the wily fox was just as quick to catch a fish from a stream. The rabbit, however could only hop around. Eventually, the rabbit came up with an idea:" Dear old fellow," he said. "You need something more substantial to warm you up. If you could light a fire, I would be honored to provide you with a tasty roasted rabbit." Rather than eat him, the greatful old man instead gathered him up in his arms, and together, flew back to the moon.
Generosity, selflessness and kindness to strangers is one worth thinking about in these uncertain times. It may be no more than a folk tale, but perhaps we should all look up at the moon tonight and remember that rabbit.

Save jobs and business endangered by the pandemic with the economic downturn likely to be protracted, the key to a subsequent recovery is preventing mass unemployment and bankruptcies. As the companies struggle to keep them afloat, a boon for the bicycle as thousands snap them up. Japan`s convenience stores sales log record drop amid pandemic. Customers visits plunged amid stay-at-home requests to tackle the spread of the novel coronavirus, logging the sharpest decline. Foreign residents stranded abroad by Japan`s coronavirus controls. The restrictions have left many foreign nationals in limbo. Whereas those who remain here fear that leaving the country would jeopardize their future as well. A second wave of coronavirus infections is sure to hit Japan even though the country has managed to prevent an explosive spread of COVID-19. The fight against this virus is truly a long-term battle, and it`s only the end of the first round, to use a boxing bout metaphor.

Japan slip into recession, but worst is yet to come. Japan`s economy sank into a recession last quarter that`s likely to deepen further as households limit spending to essential and companies cut investment, production and hiring to stay afloat amid the coronavirus pandemic.

How the coronavirus widen a cultural divide. Gap in perception of the pandemic puts Japanese and non-Japanese co-workers at odds. Non-Japanese tend to vent when they are stressed, whereas Japanese are more likely to put their heads down and tough it out. The ideal for many non-Japanese is managers being empowered to respond to the immediate situation quickly with ad hoc solutions, the more typical reality in Japan is adherence to rules, lack of flexibility and emphasis on facetime. This gap can be highly stressful and deflate non-Japanese enthusiasm to work in Japan.
