Brilliant as always! Despite of his age Terry seems to be sparkly. Every lesson I can pick up some words, phrases and idioms. No overcorrect while steering the car, eat chicken soup when you have a cold . That`s a wife`s tale and placebo effect. Terry, thank you for today`s lesson. Have a nice week. See you soon.

1st meeting with Terry-sensei.
I briefly explained why I want to study English and he picked up the topic for tonight.
It looked advanced but it was great to learn new vocabulary.
The time past very quickly so I would like to continue. Tough but pleased with the lesson.
Thank you :-)

My first impression of Terry was his disheveld hair that is still sticking out in my mind but it doesn`t matter because I got a real kick out of his accounts, also I could pick up good phrases and vocabulary from him which he typed in no time. On top of that he tries to speak in other ways using slangs, american slangs that are frequently spoken on screen, that`s useful for me to learn more and more. I really appreciate it. Terry, thank you for today`s lesson. You rock in yours stories. See you soon.

Today we read another article about investment. I learned some good phrases: "burning a hole in your pocket (you have a money that you eager to spend)", "palasysis by analysis (when you have too many options, you cannot make a dicision)", "life happens (somethig that you have to take care of comes up)", "hear me out (listen to me)", and "sitting on the side line (not actively participating in the situation)". The lesson was fun and very informative. Thank you Terry. I can't wait for our next lesson!

Today I read an article about types of investment. I learned what were stocks and bonds and how they worked. There are two types of stocks: common stocks, which majority of the stock owners own, and preferred stocks, which are way more expensive than common stocks. Those who own common stocks have a voting right but most of them do not go to shareholder's meetings. And the one of the biggest reasons for bonds' popularity is they are exempt from taxes. I learned a lot today. There were some topics that were difficult for me to grasp but Terry explained them to me using good examples. Thank you Terry. I really enjoyed your lesson. I can't wait our next reading.

In later half of our double lesson, we read an article about investment. Terry explained the meanings of "splurge", "capital", "reap the rewards" and "reading up on". We've read only a few paragraphs of the article so far but we've already found it very interesting and educational. I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the article with you, Terry. Thank you Terry. Have a good night!

We talked about my plan for my GW holiday and I explained my parents' restaurant business. I wanted to explain what dengaku was like but it was hard to describe. Dengaku (the main dish our restaurant serves) refersto a food that 's been miso-glazed and grilled. It looks like barbecue but does not include any meat (only fish and vegetables). Later we talked about tipping etiquette in the U.S and Japan. I forgot to mention about tipping habit in Japanese-style-hotel ("ryokan"). Maybe we can talk about it next time.

Today we read an article about neuroscience study about how material structure of the brain determines how you rain affect how you make a risk-taking decisions. Although its title is a bit click-bait, the article was interesting. I learned some good vocabularies such as "dicey" (=risky), "rolling dice" (=taking the chance), "apprehension" (=anxiety),"sculpt"(=form),"fatter prize"(=larger prize), etc. Terry suggested reading an article about investment so that I could educate myself more about it. Thank you Terry. I cannot wait our next lesson.
