Today's articles are about Valantine's day custom in Japan and animals' boarding on airplanes. They were so up-dated and interesting topics that our conversation was so exciting. As usual, Mark explained the contents from various view points which are interesting and thoughtful ideas. Also he told me the valuable related information about the topics. As always, I learned a lot of not only English skills but different ideas. Thanks, Mark. See you next time. |

Mark, I have to admit, we Tokyoite are not accustomed to snow, and only small amount of snow can cause lots of troubles here; falling, car crush and train delay. However, sometimes, even northern part of Japan experiences train troubles in winter. Recently, a train that was running in the middle of nowhere, was forced to stop because of heavy snowing. People inside had to spend the night in train cars! Luckily, cars were kept warm and nobody was hurt by the event... |

I had a useful lesson, as usual. As you mentioned, I find myself being self-conscious, and whenever I deliver my speech I get nervous because some member's serious faces are off-putting. Once I come to the lectern I can't escape there so I feel as if I'm confined! I'm looking forward to your next lesson! |

Today, Mark chose me the interesting BBC article regarding OECD's new education system focusing on communication skills which are necessary for learning live together. Globalization needs more multiple cultural perspectives for people to coexist without conflicts. Mark explained unfamilir expressions understandably, such as "partisan echo chamber". Thank you very much, Mark for enthusiastic lesson as always. I learned a lot. See you next time. |

First, he asked me how my speech was. I told him that the content was very good but the problem was that I couldn't control my nervousness. Then he encouraged me a lot. I find myself feeling very norvous when I have to speak in front of a person whom I don't click with. So maybe I should be more noesy and ask someone about the person so that I don't care too much about her. I enjoyed talking with him and of course, found it very useful, as always. Thank you, Mark! |

We started reading an article entitled "What it's like to live in a well-governed country." It was interesting article for me because I like to know about different cultures. There were several words I didn't know and Mark described them for me. I was interested in Danish hygge culture. Thank you for the lesson and I'm looking forward for the next lesson. |

Hello Mark, I enjoyed talking about the article on sleeping. Since the lesson, I've been trying not to take too much cafein from the late afternoon but having difficulty reducing the time seeing things with blue light. I do aspire to be like the former president Bush one day. Hope to speak to you soon. |

Today,I learned how to explain my job. I have been feeling sorry 'cause I should have pared for this lesson enough though I choose this topic. Mark taught me many nice sentences. I said one of the words might be too sophisticated for me, but I would like to be a person who deserve using it. Currently, I am feeling uneasy as same as I started speaking English for the first time long ago. My brain is activated looking for right words. I feel sorry for my teachers 'cause I hardened often so far. From my past experience, I am sure I will be able to think in English directly and will speak normal speed of mine. Thank you for your patience. |

I learned several new words and expressions talking about North Korea, South Korea and the U.S. I guess that NK have an ulterior motive pretending being friendly with SK. But I try to give NK the benefit of the doubt for a while. I hope SK won't change their sanctions. Thank you for your beneficial lesson, as always, Mark! |

I couldn’t believe that we didn’t talk for a year. It was nice talking to you again. I was a little surprised to find out that plants can be “happy” in English. In Japanese we don’t usually use the equivalent word for them. I liked that idea and now I feel a sense of closeness to my bonsai. Thank you for the fun lesson. |
