Today I read article of "Hometown Tax donation system". I also explained about gifts in return and the way we terminate gifts from someone who likes to give us too much. The person and I exchange New Years Greeting cards after that. It is normal. I have expected today's topic would make us laugh, but it might be too strange. I hope I didn't make your image of Japan bad. Thank you for your lesson! |

Today, I choose free conversation. I could talk a lot. I believe this will be good practice for having small talk with my colleagues or boss in the future. Thank you, Mark! |

We read an article entitled 'Airlines get tough after surge in requests for support pets'. It was very interesting article because boarding airpline with animals is not familiar in Japan. Mark helped me understanding the content better by describing me some words' meanings very clearly. Thank you for picking up interesting article. See you soon. |

Hi Mark, I hope you are enjoying Czech's chilly winter. In Japan, or at least at Tokyo, the cold seems to be loosened a bit, and people started to wear masks to avoid hay fever. Spring is sidling up. I am wondering how winter is in North Korea. It must be colder than that in South Korea. Do they have good curling team too? |

His lesson is always useful. I maybe write a same thing about his lessons, but I really thank his hardwork to make our lesson beneficial and interesting. I'm typically conventional so I enjoy talking with him because his thoughts sometimes make my mind unconventional. I'd like to reciprocate his effort not by giri chocolates but by improvement of my English skills. Thank you, Mark, as always! |

I had an usuful lesson, as usual. I was going to try to read and summaraize an article about reserches on making humans to live longer in a helthy condition. But we ran out of time and didn't have time to organize my thoughts. His explanations were very specific and clear, easy to understand. I really appreciate his sincerity and kindness as always. I wish I could make a vow for him to become a fluent English speaker in a year! But I'm sure my English will improve gradually under his wonderful guidance. Thank you, Mark! |

Today, we talked about the article on unconventional treatment for chronic pain after having surgery. It is a kind of shock treatment of plunging cold water. It is a unproven treatmen, but works well reducing the pain of some patients. I learned some sport and medical terms. And Mark lead me to think about Japanese unconventional treatment. It's fun to make some ideas from some points on an article. Mark usually suggests how to make ideas and organize my opinion. Thank you and see you next time. |

Today, we talked about the article refering the expensive school uniform designed by Armani that the public elementary school in Tokyo decided as their new school uniform. I expressed my opinion that the decision was wrong describing some reasons. Mark pointed out my unnatural words and expressions and corrected proper ones. Also he gave me the new ideas helping my ideas be persuasive. I always enjoy his ideas and suggestions. Thank you very much, Mark. See you next time. |

As always, I learned a lot of not only English skills but different ideas. Thanks, Mark. See you next time. |

Mark, I have to admit, we Tokyoite are not accustomed to snow, and only small amount of snow can cause lots of troubles here; falling, car crush and train delay. However, sometimes, even northern part of Japan experiences train troubles in winter. Recently, a train that was running in the middle of nowhere, was forced to stop because of heavy snowing. People inside had to spend the night in train cars! Luckily, cars were kept warm and nobody was hurt by the event... |

I had a useful lesson, as usual. As you mentioned, I find myself being self-conscious, and whenever I deliver my speech I get nervous because some member's serious faces are off-putting. Once I come to the lectern I can't escape there so I feel as if I'm confined! I'm looking forward to your next lesson! |
