 The story we read was about Suu Kyi, who was sentenced to solitary imprisonment around ten days earlier by Myanmar's Junta. The ASEAN Special Envoy for Myanmar has requested that she be returned to her previous site of house imprisonment by the Military Council. The envoy intended to meet with her as well as other democratic leaders. However, the Military Council forbade it.

 We read an article about a UN expert who had just returned from Malysia. He underlined that ASEAS member nations should work with NUG to find a solution to the Myanmar situation. Malaysia is eager to find a solution to the crisis in Myanmar, which is still run by a military junta that seized power in a coup. Malaysia has abandoned the ASEAN ideal of "non-interference in domestic matters" in favor of a strategy of "non-indifference."
