Today, Mio learned animal sounds in English. She enjoyed the difference between Japanese sounds and English sounds. She was happy to start the same phonics book as her brother. Thank you for another wonderful lesson, Xandra. |

In Japan we have the dilemma of should job promotions be based on perfomance or on seniority? Even in overseas Japanese companies maintain their systems, that is to say, seniority. A seniority based promotions structure can eliminate the perceptions of favoritism. Employers typically won`t have to worry about a newer worker coming in and quickly leapfrogging them to obtain a promotion simply because they are friends with an upper-level supervisor or because they are more effective at playing the game of corporate politics. Promotion based on seniority can also help maintains a more harmonious workplace and it helps to develop team work among them. I know that perfomance-based promotion system will increase employees` work efficiency and productivity. Nevertheless, I think we Japaneses like to huddle together and do the things. Therefore seniority fits to us. |

Hello Riz! Thank you for the lesson(Wednesday 18:30,March 7th,2018) and comment. The title of the article was "Egypt archaelogists find large city of the dead". The article said the 2000-year-old necropolis was found south of Egypt's capital in the Nile valley city of Minya. There was one interesting tomb in the necropolis contains more than 1000 statues and 4 pottery jars in which their were remains of the internal organs of important ancient Egyptians. I wonder the statues had been continuing to protect the organs. see you! |

In this lesson we read an article which Mark prepared for the lesson entitled 'In Germany, the world's most romantic postbox'. The article was very interesting and I liked it. There were several words that I was not familiar with. But most of the words I could guess from a little clue by Mark. Thank you for the interesting article and I'm looking forward for the next lesson. See you soon! |

Teacher Namiko's class is very informative. I tried to understand the reason the writer used some words, but it was not enough to find Arenddt's intention. By your help, it become clear. I was able to understand its meaning from grammar also. Thank you very much teacher Namiko. I love your class!! |
