Thank you very much today's lesson. We talked about SF program of Netflix; Discovery, Traveler, etc and funky music, Daft punk, Jamiroquai. He is very familiar with 80's and 90's music, not only trendy music. See you next time! |

That's wonderful! You had pleasant memories during your summer holidays with your grandparents in Russia when you were small. When my granddaughter comes to Japan this summer, I also can give happy memories to her. It was nice talking, Vlada. See you soon! |

Vladimir is a polyglot who is familiar with English, Russian, Serbian, Spanish, Italian, and so on. He is a very intellectual guy and with him I could discuss diversified topics including political, scientific, and even philosophical ones. He is also a great lover of SF novels and he introduced me some novels or movies in that area. It is always fun for me to discuss with him. |

Hi Vlada, an SF novelist Cory Doctorow used this expression, if my memory serves: "People living in states whose names starting and ending with vowels". Meaning Ohio, Oklahoma, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Alabama, Alaska, Arizona. I guess they are heartlands of United states (well, Alaska might not!). However, the expression is funny because those vowel names mostly came from native Americans names, I think. Those states are considered as "Most American" states, aren't they? |

Today I requested a topic of aviation English for my upcoming job interview. Since it contains so many technical terms, I needed to understand them in Japanese first. I read books written in Japanese, then memorized the terms in English. Vladi encouraged me a lot and lessened my stress. Thank you for the wonderful lesson as always, Vladi. Your kind words made me relaxed. |
