We learned with Lesson 41"Getting a Promotion". The new bocabrary was "take effect" which means begin, begin to work. I was surprized that liquor and alcohol are different and beer and wine are not included in liquor. Other important expressions I learned was assume the position, the difference between regional and area managers, entailing responsibilities, etc. Thank you Max. Lesson 39 business power topic. I learned a lot of good phrases including striving to, taking on, accomplish and setting up. In the role-playing part, Max, as a hotel employee and me, as a hotel manager discussed how to improve the terrible situations of the hotel, which has been in a bad shape due to the lack of staff. I enjoyed today's lesson. Thank you Max. |

We did lesson 40 today. The phrase I learned today was "be sensitive to". This phrase have 3 different meanings according to the context it is used. I was bit surprized that William, who seems to be arrogant, got five out of five evaluation for his performance. But he will be eliminated soon! Thank you Max! I enjoyed your lesson as always. I hope you will have a good Friday evening with your cats watching nice movies! |

According to the article that you introduced to me, the ingredient in marijuana has a good effect on the brain aging. That's an interesting argument. But there are very few people who advocate legalizing marijuana in Japan. Anyway in aging society we have to find the way of recovering memory loss caused by alzheimer dementia. Thank you so much! |

We talked about taller people and shorter oeople in the world. And I was surprised and sad with the conclusion about image-conscious. Taller people have advantage,it is true. But We can do nothing about our height. I always say to young guys that spirits and skills are much more important. Don't give up everyboday, go on looking up at the purpose! |

I've found the interesting article which was written about the world after death in Buddhism. I translated that to Max. I found it a little bit difficult but it was a very good lesson for me. I'm happy he always listened earnestly to my English and notes the appropriate expressions for me. Thank you and see you soon! |

Today's topic was about truly restful breaks for workers. According to the article that was taken up at the lesson, workers should take micro breaks so often and in the morning. And then when they take a rest, they should get out of the office. I think it is a convincing argument, but saying is one thing and doing is another. I enjoyed talking with you. Thank you so much! |
