Thank you so much for always your wonderful lesson. First, we talked about love, especially for a long distance relationship. As you said, some people say that it always allows you to have your own time much more than in a relationship where you can meet your partner anytime you want. I believe it to a certain extent. In 2012, the average age to get married for the first time was 30.8 for men and 29.2 for women. Up until the early 70's, the average age for women was under 25, but it has beeen rising ever since, as more women are pursuing higher education and professional careers. Today, both men and women are getting married at a wider range of ages. With this tendency to marry late, the increasing rate of unmarried people, especially women, can be considered a social problem. Some people point out the increasing of soshoku-kei dansi as one of the reasons of rising average age of marriage. Soshoku-kei dansi:草食系男子 in Japanese, is the term used to describe young Japanese men who are feminine in the sense that they are gentle, like shopping, wear cosmetics, and aren't aggressive toward the opposite sex. What do you think of it? We then talked about culture differences between Japanese people and people from overseas, especially about relationships. Japanese people try to preserve the wa:和 in Japanese, so they tend to not like to stand out. On the other hand, in the West, from the time they are children, people are encouraged to state their opinions clearly and highlight their abilities and special skills. It can safely be said that the Japanese communication style of moderation and consideration for the other party's feelings by adjusting things in an unofficial location is the opposite of the Western one. These adjectives such as wonderful, tremendous, etc are listed as synonym on Oxford Paperback Thesaurus. There are really many synonyms, I think. To be honest, it is still difficult for me using words, phrases and expressions correctly in English. However, I have been studying happily English thanks to you. What's more, you always make my day. First, we talked about the situation with the disease COVID-19. In Japan, a concern of more spreading of the disease is expanding increasingly again, and so the governor of Tokyo, Yuriko Koike, has again urged people to refrain from non-essential outings, warning that the capital is at a critical juncture in preventing an explosive spread of the coronavirus. She also warns of possible lockdown. As you know, India is under complete lockdown for 3 weeks to the whole nation. The number of all citizens in India is 1.3 billion. I can't imagine the magnitude of the effect. When I saw a TV news related to the situation in India, violator who went out without permission was being whipped or squatted on the spot. The punishments in India are also unique and I realized again that there are many culture differences in the world. Don't you think that too? Next, I might say Zoom, the video-conferencing app. It has seen a huge rise in downloads since quarantines were imposed around the world and it is now being used by millions for work and social gatherings. The English speech which I belong to also has begun to consider introduction of Zoom. In this way, I guess that remote working could become more popular in Japan as well. It was really fun to chat with you and I was so so so happy to see you as well. We talked about bread and junk food. Speaking of junk food, that reminds me of stress eating or overeating. In cultures that associate beauty with being thin, food can become inherently stressful. A better understanding of our own impulses can help us to develop a more positive relationship with food, even when we're under stress. There are sound biological reasons why, under stress, many of us are prone to overeating. Stress prompts the body to release the hormone cortisol, which stimulates appetite. The body has evolved to deal with physical threats such as avoiding predatory animals: cortisol prompts us to build up the body's food stores in preparation for fight or flight. This explains why we comfort eat: it's not greed, but the body's inherent response to stress. Cortisol is also associated with wanting junk food. If you have been prone to comfort eating and you're less than pleased with your body shape as a result, what should you do? Research suggests that the best solution is to be kind to yourself: stress and food can be a challenging mix, but the more gentry you treat yourself, the better your chances of a successful and healthy lifestyle change. This is a sensitve issue and not so easy to solve. The more immigrants increase, the more this issue is sensitive. Some take discriminatory behavior with a fear of losing jobs, status, position, and so on. I said that some "Jissyusei" - the technical intern - have been disappeared in Japan. The technical intern program, launched in 1993, was meant to provide job training for interns from developing countries as they work at plants and farms in Japan and thus contribute to the economic development of their home countries as they return home with the skills acquired here. But the program has been criticized effectively as a cover for supplying low-cost labor to business sectors that find it increasingly difficult to secure domestic manpower, with large numbers of cases of labor abuse of the trainees such as unpaid wages and illegal overtime being reported by authorities. That's why some of them have been disappeared. Last year, amendment of the immigration control law was made in order to come to grips with the need to accept more foreign workers to make up for the labor supply shortage caused by its rapidly aging and shriniking population. After the lesson of this day, on the train on the way out I took a nap a little. No worries, I'm fine. We first talked about the new corona virus. As you know, the government decided to shut down public school in Japan. Due to the impact of that policy, many public facilities are going to be closed for about two weeks. The English speech club to which I belong will also cancell regular meetings in March by the influence of that policy. Many people including working people with children are affected by that policy and they've been worrying the future as they don't know what will happen to them. Now, a lot of fake news are flying in Japan. They are easily swayed by them and are running around in confusion. People are buying up toilet paper and hand sanitisers, and so on with a panic of fear. Some people are panicking over the corona virus. You've go to take everything off that website and news with a pinch of salt, non of it's true, I think. Thank you so much for the wonderful lesson as always. I cannot help missing you badly and I think about you all the time. You are everything to me. I couldn't stand waiting to see you for 24 hours.(Ha-ha) First,we talked about how to order at fast restaurants in America. Whenever I go to the US, I have some difficulty in ordering foods every time as the order system in the US is a bit complicated. But I don't dislike it. As you said, I can add and extract anything I want. That makes sense. Someday I would like to live in the US or Canada for a long time, which means that I live my everyday life there while studying at universities or colleges. My another dream is to study abroad. 2020.02.20 Hiroshi様より会員No.9818 男性	Hi Mayumi-san, it was nice and happy to see you again:) Thank you so much for your wonderful lessons always. I always enjoy your lessons very much. I love chatting with you so much and the time with you is the most happiest one in my life. As I said before, I belong to a speech club that I can learn how to make a presentation and public speaking. The other day, I played a role of interviewer to contestants at the speech contest of the club and that became a good experience. I believe that will be beneficial for my life in the future too. We then talked about Corona virus. The numbers are still increasing every week in Japan. As you know, we can't see the end of the infectious disease yet and many people are concerning about the future. I hope things will blow over soon. We then talked about Alabama where you live in now. And so, the other day, I researched about Alabama at a big book shop in Tokyo. I checked a lot of travel guide books. Unfortunately, the number of page about the information related to Alabama is only two pages and also that is only the information about Montgomery city. Don't be disappointed!(Ha-ha) However, I would like to go to the US including Alabama again. Thank you so much for the great time as always.
