Hello! My name is Ahri, and I am originally from California, though I've had the opportunity to live in many different states across the U.S. This has given me a broad perspective on people, communication, and culture. In my free time, I enjoy studying languages, exploring different cultures, and spending time outdoors. I also love connectiing with people through food, travel, and shared stories. My friends and students often describe me as warm, patient, and encouraging. What motivates me to teach English is the joy of helping others grow in confidence when expressing themselves. Language is more than words - it's also about connection and culture - and I'm passionate about guiding students to discover that. With a background in linguistics, a TESOL certification, and experience tutoring ENglish, SPanish, Japanese and American Sign Language, I've seen firsthand how learning a new language can open doors in life. My lesson style is professional yet relaxed, focusing on personalized learning that adapts to each student's needs. I especially enjoy working with beginner to intermediate learners, helping them build a strong foundation in conversation and pronunciation. My particular strength is creating a comfortable space where students can practice speaking without fear, while also improving their listening skills and overall confidence.
