My name is Gene Matela. I'm 29 years old and I'm from the Philippines. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Financial Management from Father Saturnino Urios University. I'm thrilled to say that I've been working as an online English tutor for almost four years now! I've also acquired TESOL, TEYL, and TEFL certificates. I absolutely love teaching both adults and young learners! I am thrilled to share that I have extensive experience teaching English, from phonics to conversational skills!


I love watching animated movies and series, as well as action and romantic films. I absolutely love listening to music and organizing things at home. I also love surfing the internet! I love having free talk conversations about food, travel, and anything else that I know will be interesting to the students!

 

My teaching philosophy is very simple – do not be shy and try to talk as much as you can. Do not feel embarrassed when you make pronunciation or grammar mistakes. Whenever you make mistakes, you get an opportunity to correct them and learn new things.
