Kathryn, there is a saying in Japan that the heaven is high, and horses put on weight: Autumn. Meaning everyone is happy with good weather and great food from fresh harvest, before facing inevitable consequences on a health scale. I am one of them, I have to admit!

When did I buy a cooking book last? YouTube is very useful in the kitchen. I learnt to fillet fish from YouTube. If I want to go fishing, it's very important to cook fish, to get a permission of my wife. Thank you for another pleasant lesson!

Two typhoons made landfall in a row in recent couple of weeks. So it has rained continuously. It's rare to have such a continuous rain in this season in Japan. But, to my surprise, Kathryn said it often happens in England and flood is also not rare. I didn't know that! See you next!

We started the topics about coming typhoon and election. And as usual, we went to the digressive topics, Brexit, and the word 'deal'. I can't deal with the word 'deal' well, because it has many meanings. See you next!

Today, we talked about two topics. One is aphid that is the worst enemy of roses. And another topics is compost. In making compost, I use bran and accelerator. So, they generate heat. Mixing compost is a hard work. I have
done it three times already, and I have to do it once or twice again. I hope this burden is rewarded. See you tomorrow!

Today, we talked about the cottage garden design in England. Before the winter, there are a lot of tasks. You have to cut back the frost hardy perennials, and compost the dead annual flowers. And of course you have to remove terracotta pots into the greenhouse. But, you know, we Japanese adore the English garden. See you next!

Should I ask a professional to do something or should I do it myself, that is the question. Kathryn paid a professional to come and teach her dog to stop barking. It was not cheap, but I envy Kathryn. I don't think I can use such a service easily in Japan. It's always very interesting to find such a small differences between two countries. See you next!
