Warm greetings from the Little Karoo (dry, barren, thirsty land)! My name is Holly. I have a BSc. Honours degree in speech-language pathology through the University of Cape Town and a 120-hour ACTDEC-accredited TEFL certificate. I have worked as a speech therapist for 20 years, mostly with adults who have neurological impairments that affects their ability to hear, see, understand others, speak, read, and/or write. I also have experience as a part-time final year speech therapy student supervisor, where I supervised students doing their practical work. In 2023, I decided to change my career focus to teaching British English as a second language online and have been doing this ever since then. In my spare time I enjoy gardening, and helping adults with communication impairments to access the Good News about Jesus Christ. Healthcare professionals (doctors, nurses, therapists) need clear communication skills for exams, patient interactions, and professional settings. I therefore specialise in: 1. Medical English Training (terminology, patient communication, report writing) I look forward to meeting you and being your tutor. |
