My name is Holly. I love teaching! I am a skilled teacher. I have a BSc. Honors degree in Speech-language Pathology through the University of Cape Town here in South Africa and a 120-hour ACTDEC accredited TEFL certificate. I have more than 20 years of cross cultural teaching experience in a variety of settings ranging from homeless people, the physically disabled, children with learning difficulties, to the rich and famous. I headed up a literacy and recycling programme in high school, visited orphans and started a ministry to homeless people at university. I have a God given special interest in poor, marginalised communities and have assisted mostly adults who struggle to hear, see, understand others, think, learn, socialise, speak, read and/or write for he last 20 years. I have the ability to patiently listen to, support, teach and guide people who struggle to communicate either through disability or due to being second language English speakers. I am genuinely interested in my students. This genuine interest motivates me to grow and develop my skills so that I can be the best teacher I can possibily be! At the end of 2022, I decided to stop practicing as speech therapist and change career focus. I now want to share my skillls with people who want to learn English through online lessons.
I love creating an inspiring, motivating and encouraging classroom for my students where they feel safe to make mistakes and learn.
In my spare time I enjoy discovering new ways to live low resource in an eco-friendly way.
I look forward to meeting you and being your teacher.
