Aloha everyone!  

My name is Heather.  I am a speech therapist originally from Hawaii but currently live in Australia.  Meeting new people and learning about their values, cultures, and languages are enjoyable for me.  A few of my hobbies include gardening, yoga, and studying Japanese.  When studying Japanese, I have faced the challenges of learning a new language, so I hope to provide a fun and relaxing learning experience for you!  My years of teaching experience with students from the preschool to the college level has taught me the importance of incorporating students’ interests and learning styles into the lessons.  I am very passionate about teaching and speaking, so I hope to have the opportunity to share the English language with you!  My strengths include teaching pronunciation and prosody along with the basics of vocabulary and grammar.  If there are any other areas of the English language you would like to focus on, I will do my very best to help you with this.  I am very patient and kind, so please ask me any questions that you have.  I look forward to seeing you in my class!
