 今回も楽しかったです！
教材は少し難しめのをチョイスしてくれているので知らない単語も多いですが、理解できているかしっかり確認してくれるので、質問したりそこから派生して軽い雑談をしたりと、固くなりすぎずリラックスして会話を楽しめます。
教材に入る前の時事ニュースや天気の話も、知識としても会話のバリエーションとしてもとても勉強になります。

 Thank you for another great lesson, Stu.
We had a quiz on idioms today, and Stewart gave me tons of idioms, showing example sentences. I could understand almost all idioms because I have been focusing on learning them. However, I don't have much imagination to use idioms in real conversation myself, so the examples he showed will be helpful when actually using use them. When he asked me the meaning of "takes the biscuit", I thought at first I didn't know it. But once I noticed that it was a British version of "takes the cake," I found it interesting because the food indicates the difference between the two countries. He also taught me a cool but quite informal version of it.

 It was nice meeting you, Stewart.
Today, I had a free-conversation lesson with Stewart. I did not prepare any topics to talk about in advance, but he brought up what he thought I would be interested in through reading my bio. He was so adept at finding common points between us, which really helped make our lesson fruitful.
Rarely had I imagined that I was able to talk about my favorite musicians with a native speaker. English definitely gives me a glimpse of another life.
