Today, we talked about Japnese culture, the fake food samples. We can enjoy watching them before we eat in front of the doors of the restaurants. The specialists who can make them are getting older, but some young boys are interested in it. They are trying to give them the skills to make the samples. It's very hard to continue, but they say they are not going to give up.

As communication is different to monologue, we need to care the partner’s understanding. Before I start to learn in Eigox, I was stressed by communicating in English, I didn’t care whether partner can understand or not. In these days, I have some leeway to think partner. When teacher Froulaine can’t understand what I mean, using another expression, I can get her understand. There are long way to go, but anyway English communication starts at last.

It was interesting to know that Japanese and Mexican are similar in smiling when being embarrassed and this kind of smile doesn't exist in America and it can create misunderstanding or even a bit of anger. Typical cultural difference!

There are social cliques anywhere, aren't there? It's difficult to be fair all the time. We are required to make our position clear though it leads creating enemies...

It is nice to have emotional connection with others both in near and far places through the system of god parents. I think the Japanese counterpart is rare and in many cases just formal.

New experience in a foreign country is exciting. There are so many beautiful pictures, but they don't really impress us. Seeing (Experiencing) is believing.

My cousin and I got a license of amateur ham radio in their elementary school. When I talk to him over radio equipment, I was very excited even if we can talk easily by the phone. Do you remember the first time of you using a phone? Maybe your eyes wide open and your harts beating first. It is similar to my feelings. I remember my feelings when I communicate with foreign people. My harts is pounding not because I’m nervous but delight. It is joyful to communicate someone.

Technology, especially the Internet and digital books, has dramatically changed life for teachers and researchers. We can get information far more easily and reasonably. We can write papers faster, but the demand has become bigger because everyone else has the same conditions. Ironically, competition seems to get bitter.
