There are so many cars in Japan. Strange to say, I feel owners of same car model is similar to each other. Since I was a road racer rider, I know the car model which I shouldn’t get too close. For example, one is Toyota highace. This van type car popular among the construction workers. Thus, there are many reckless drivers of the owners of this car model. The another one is the Toyota prious. The owners of this car is mostly elderly people. They pay little attention to bicycle. I often near-miss to prius. The owner of prius run as if they are the most greenest car. They never give way to other car, and never to take the distance when they overtake the bicycle. In the central area of Tokyo, I could run at the speed equivalent to the car drives. But I took the distance when I saw the highace or prious. |

Today, Mark showed me an interesting article, "World's children rapidly turning obese" In some countries, the number of obese children has been increasing because of an intake of sugary and fattening food, putting them at a risk of health problems in the future such as type 2 diabetes, heart disease, stroke and certain type of cancers. To crack down on the carolie-dense adn nutrient-poor food, so far 20 countries have introduced a tax on sugary drinks. In Japan, the rate of obese children is low, but some young women are underweight and need more nutritious food. It's important for children to care about taking well-balanced food and do enough exercise for their future. Thanks a lot, Mark for fruitful lesson and see you next time. |
