As for the "w" or "p" issue, my bet goes to the theory that was a "p". However, his mouse movement looks a little bit short to pronounce the word of "people".

I am sorry that I could not speak clearly because of a cold. Though my throat was itchy and painful, I joined our drinking party.
We have many parties at the end and beginning of year.
I could spend delightful time with you while talking about the photos regarding the menu I ate in the party.
