I enrolled in two consecutive classes all at once. The subject of conversation this time was leisure activities. I discussed some of my all-time favorite sports cartoons and readings. Reading books is an active effort that involves patience and imagination, in contrast to the passive activity of watching TV and movies.

I took part in a casual discussion about music, and the issue kept coming back to how iconic the Beatles is. When I was a child,  I taught myself how to play the piano. Patience was yet another essential theme. Finally, I shared my story about how a salesman tried to sell me a piece of software that turned out to be incompatible with my PC.

In the story I noticed a lot of differences between Japan and America.
I always think, you listen to my story until you understand.
So I always realize if my story was conveyed properly.
Because you always write it down.
And you tell me how to say it in English.

Thank you for another great lesson, Chie!
We continued the discussion on freedom of speech from the last lesson. She prepared an article related to the theme in advance, and we first went over some words appearing in the article that I was not familiar with. And then, I tried to form my opinion with her help. What I wanted to argue got so complicated that I had trouble making it concise. I will write an essay about it by the next lesson, and we will check it together.
