スカイプの調子が振るわずPCの再起動などで15分ほど開始が遅れましたが次の授業がなかったこともあり結果的には25分以上のレッスンをしていただきました。初回につき自己紹介と近況報告的な会話に終始しましたがご本人が日本通でもあったので共通の話題は見つけやすかったです。会話中に出てきた聞きなれない単語については都度チャットボックスでフォローいただき会話が進みました。早口になると聞き取れないところもありましたがくせのない発音でヒヤリングの学習もできました。 |

We talked about an act of terrorism that happened on the night of Halloween in Tokyo. I thought I tried to put together my thoughts on that incident through our conversation in order to write an essay. In the middle of our conversation, I realized that the theme was too juicy for my English skills to handle, so sometimes, I was tripped up. However, her detailed explanations helped me get her points and broaden my perspective. We also talked about the extent of restrictions on freedom of expression, which gave me another point of view to analyze the cultural differences between Japan and the States. I learned a bunch of interesting words and phrases throughout our conversation, and talking about "Middle schooler-itis" should be the highlight of my day. Thank you, Saraha. I had an enjoyable and productive time. |
