We had fruitful discussion regarding 'appearance' using the online material you chose.
The first impression is important to form human relationships, and is decided within a few seconds after we met. The major decision factors are appearance according to the law of Mehrabian. Therefore, when we meet someone, we should make good appearance as much as possible.
In the case of English lessons, the first impression derived from appearance may be important.

 I enjoyed Mark's first lesson. He set a real situation (e.g., my English co-worker is trying to skip the meeting, and asks me what to do), and did a role-play.
