 Today, we did the movie lesson by using Desperate housewives. Howie-san kindly point out my Katakana English. My fixed idea about Katakana English sometime inhibit saying natural English words.  One of our group member can’t understand Japanese. Today, when we have quick meeting, she didn’t know the meeting will start because the meeting call was Japanese. So I called her name and beckoned to her. At first she couldn’t understand my gesture, but shortly afterward, she understood. Later I found that the gesture of beckoning is different with country. When Japanese beckoning, we use fanning gesture with palm down. But in U.S., that gesture means go away. Today, I know using gesture are dangerous when we talk to foreign people.
