In this class I introduced NIBOSHI, dried sardines.
Today is the day of Niboshi. The naming comes from word play. Knee means 2 , bow means stick, and she means 4 literally. So February 14 is the day of Niboshi. They are effective to prevent from osteoporosis.骨粗しょう症。

Hello, Rachel! Thank you for the lesson.(Wednesday 18:30,February 14th,2018) and comment. The title of the article this time wad "Earth Magnetic poles are about to flip". The scientists say "Earth's magnetic pole(north, south) are going to flip upside down some future because of the direction change of liquid molten irons flow under the earth's crust". I wonder what will happen on the earth when the magnetic poles flip. See you again!

Our lesson was very productive for a 25 minute lesson as we talked about various things and the fact that she had sent me a file in advance for me to read during the lesson, which was really nice of her. She's highly reliable as a teacher and I hope to have more lessons with her.

We continued the work on the vocabulary list. Today I needed hints to reach answers for several words and John helped me by gaving me examples clearly. Also he introduced me two websites for learning vocabulary in different ways. I didn't know that there are that many kind of 'nym'in English. I will work on them to widen understanding.
Thank you for the lesson and I'm looking forward for the next lesson.

Thank you so much for your lesson. Both my son & daughter enjoyed a lot. I'm sure they learned a lot of new vocabs and tried to use them in the correct way because you gave them a test from time to time, which I was impressed. you're such a efficient teacher!

Today, we talked about the article on unconventional treatment for chronic pain after having surgery.
It is a kind of shock treatment of plunging cold water. It is a unproven treatmen, but works well reducing the pain of some patients. I learned some sport and medical terms.
And Mark lead me to think about Japanese unconventional treatment.
It's fun to make some ideas from some points on an article. Mark usually suggests how to make ideas and organize my opinion. Thank you and see you next time.
