Cats are wises, they sleep on the rice warmer in the morning, the heated tea table in the evening and the veranda on sunny days, moreover some cats wedge in the blanket. Usually, these animals make off with foods, mostly fishes like mackerel, saury, salmon and sardines, their favorities. Cats are perceived as moody, annoying, whiny and high-maintenance. What would you have come to mind when you hear these features? Today I use words as go-getter,coerce,grueling,botch,moot,in vain,pledge,laid-back,feature,vow,glass ceiling, callous, dawdle, procrastinate, cock, scotch tape, stapler, rickety, knicks and knacks, sunflower, mackerel, centipede, adhesive tape, cotton swab, gravy ladle, rice paddle, kitchen flipper, spatula, clothes pin, sparking adjustable wrench, rake and so on. Today I learned the phrase "get one`s hope up". Nina, thank you for today`s lesson. You are the bomb. |

I'm pretty sure that she has been improving her vocabulary, thanks to you! Besides the phrases from the textbook, she memorizes some useful phrases from the conversation between you and her little by little. I think she also understood the difference between “in” and “at” in a certain way. She understood what situations she should say “in” in, instead of “at” |

We read the Bob book. I learned some new expressions including "be as right as rain" (feeling well), "lethargic" (feel drained),"chipper" (feeling well),"padding off" (going off, used only for animals with paws), "self-sufficient" (financially independent), "easy someone out of" (gradually let someone leave). I learned a lot today! Thank you Katherine! |
