It's been a year and half since the last lesson with Fiona. I asked a question about an expression, "a row of ticks" in a textbook, which I didn't understand. She gave me an easy-to-grasp explanation about it and now I understand what it means. ("tick" is a tick mark, so "a row of ticks (for the big things") means that a person enjoyed big things in his life like promotion, marriage, buying a house, etc.) I like her way of teaching. |

Thank you for the articles. Taking care of elders has also become a serious problem in Japan. Before, families were large and the life expectancy was not long. Therefore, elders can be taken care of by their family member, usually, the mother. Now, people live longer and families are small. Many of us cannot directly take care of our parents who are very old. We need to depend on nursing homes. Thank you for your lessons today. I enjoyed it very much. See you. Bye. |

Today we talked about management and leadership in the office. Danielle gave me some her knowledge about management. It is fun to talk about businesses from time to time with tutors with business background. She is humorous and cheerful, easy to talk to. |
