Thank you for your valuable lesson as always. Today I tried to summarize stories without taking notes. I found it easier to focus on the story itself. There are no short cut to do a good job, but I'm pleased to say I'm enjoying the process now. Have a nice day and see you tomorrow! |

It was an exciting lesson for me. The news article we used had more information than the previous one, so sometimes I failed to catch the gist of the story as I paid attention to take notes. As you mentioned, to remember the numbers, dates and names is the most important thing for interpreters. I'll keep in mind that and try to stay concentrated on the information. Thanks for the useful tips. |

It was a pleasure talking with you again, Vladi. He was so helpful to my request to practice consecutive interpretation. We read some news articles and then I summarized them in English. It was a nice practice for me. Thank you and see you soon. |

Vlada, I hope you would enjoy Kozure Ōkami movies/programs. Wikipedia says the comic influenced American comics, especially Frank Miller's Sin City. However, I remember the movie was rather stylish and mythical, even though Logal's atmosphere is more bleak and realistic. OK, they have a couple of things in common - spattering blood, surprising, but often comical violence scenes. How would you find Kozure Ōkami? |

Vlada, later I noticed I forgot to tell you that I watched two movies you recommended: Arrival and Logan. The former is thought-provoking but I guess the novel version is better, with more detailed explanation. The latter reminds me of Kodure-Ohkami, a famouse old Japanese TV period program. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lone_Wolf_and_Cub). Violent, but good-in-heat father and a child. Splattering blood. If you have a chance, please have a look on that too. Also, I was surprised to learn later that the white guy was Stephen Merchant. Why does everyone speak in British accent in the future? |
