My name is Allan, I'm from the Philippines but I'm currently in Macau, China for work.
I started my passion for teaching since I was in junior high school. I participated in a student-teacher program at our school. The first subject I taught was Arts for freshmen students and it was in the English language. I was also a feature writer of our school's official publication/newspaper.
I grew up knowing and embracing the Japanese culture because some of my family members lived and worked in Japan. At an early age, I learned how to use chopsticks and eat sushi, tempura, maki, ramen, tonkatsu, and my ultimate favorite - takoyaki!
I also love watching anime and Japanese TV series since I was a kid. Visiting the Land of the Rising Sun is number 1 in my bucket list. Sugu ni!
My first foreign student was a Japanese from Nagoya-shi, Aichi. She even studied and finished high school in Manila. That was when I started learning Nihongo and became a JPop fan. We became very good friends and still connected through social media. Currently, I'm doing one-on-one Business English lessons with a Japanese lady from Ibaraki who is working in a Japanese hotel company here in Macau.
As a teacher, I am goal-driven, compassionate, patient, and fun-loving.
Be it pronunciation, business, basic to advanced conversational English, I will help you not just to learn but embrace English with love. I have certifications in Teaching IELTS & TOEIC, Teaching English Online, Teaching Business English, Teaching Young Learners, and Advanced Grammar.
