はじめまして、Eigox講師のMiyukiです。

神戸生まれの神戸育ち、若い時から海外生活を夢見て語学力アップに励み、いまだその願いかなわずですが、まだまだあきらめてはいません。

夢を現実にするための一歩を踏み出す勇気と同時に、夢を持ち続けることも人生のスパイスだと感じています。

お出かけ、ランチ、カフェ巡り、おうちパーティー、カラオケ、家族や友人と過ごす時間が大好きです。最近のブームは「メキシカンタコス」をつくること。

外出先でのランチはメキシカンタコスのお店を探し、ネットで検索しまくり、自分で作ってみる。まだ満足のいくレシピは確立しておりませんが、もうしばらく挑戦し続けます。耳寄りな情報がありましたら、是非教えてくださいね。

一方で、me timeも大好きです。一人で読書（主に実用書）、英語での映画、ドラマ、ドキュメンタリー視聴、ハンドメイド、ガーデニングなどを楽しんでいます。

経歴

・神戸市外国語大学卒業

・塾講師、子ども英会話講師として働く傍ら産業翻訳のチェッカーとして12年、その後、日英翻訳者として15年ほど工業、一般ビジネス、環境、医薬分野の翻訳を行っております。

レッスンで大切にしていること

「言語は人と人とのコミュニケーションのための道具」－この至極シンプルな考え方を大切にしております。

これだけAIが進化した時代であっても、自分で英語を話し、意思を通わせたいという願いを持つのは、会話を通して、人の温かみを感じ、新たな刺激を受け、幸せを感じ、それは人生を一層豊かにしてくれるから。

日本人はどうしても英語を「お勉強」の対象としてとらえがちですが、道具は使って目的を達成してこそ意味を持ちます。間違えても大丈夫。完璧を目指すより、まずは何かを口から出して伝えようとすること、相手を理解しようとすること。それができた時の高揚感を積み重ねていくお手伝いができればと思っております。

ご理解いただきたいこと

・小さなお子様とのレッスン時はオンラインレッスンという性質上、集中力を維持することが難しい場合がございます。レッスンポリシーとして、とにかく英語を楽しんでいただきたいと考えておりますので、私の方から、お子様に厳しく対応することは一切ございません。親御さんの方で、できる限りのご協力をいただければ助かります。

・海外在住経験はございませんが、それこそが私の強みであると確信しております。日本にいながらスピーキング力を鍛える方法を是非シェアーいたします。

・IELTSに関しては自身のスコアがBand Score 7.0ですので6.0までを目指す生徒さんに対応可能とさせていただいております。(自身もさらに高得点を目指して邁進中)

Hello everyone, my name is Miyuki.

I was born and brought up in Japan and have dreamed about moving to and settling in a foreign country. Unfortunately, although I have not achieved that goal yet, I have not given up. I believe having a dream has added spice to my life.

I am outgoing and easy-going person, and enjoy hanging out, eating out, throwing home parties, and singing and chatting with my friends and family. At the same time, I also enjoy my me time while reading practical books, watching movies, making handmade items and doing gardening.

Background

-Graduated from Kobe City University of Foreign Studies

- After graduation, I taught English and math to junior high and high school students at cram schools, and I was dispatched as an in-house English tutor for young children. 

-After 12 years of working as an editor and proofreader of technical documents, I started my carrier as a Japanese-to-English technical translator, and it has been almost 15 years. I specialize in the fields of engineering, general business, environment and medicine.

Lesson Policy

I cherish the simple policy of “Language is a tool to communicate with people around you.” With highly advanced AI tools which are now available to all of us, we are still eager to talk with people ourselves because communication with people leads to new discoveries, brings a sense of happiness, and makes our lives more meaningful.

Tools fulfill their roles only when they are used to achieve the purpose they are made for. So, rather than see English as merely a subject that you must learn, why not saying something out loud, try to convey what you are thinking, and try to understand what others are saying. Accumulating tiny successes will keep you motivated and propel your learning journey forward.

Precautions

-Young children might find it hard to keep focused during lessons. However, in line with my Lesson Policy, my focus during classes is to help students enjoy conversations. That is why I will not try to correct their behavior even when they get carried away and start misbehaving. I would appreciate the support of parents.

-Although I have never lived in countries where English is spoken as an official language, I take advantage of my background and can share with tips how to acquire fluent English-speaking skills while living in Japan.

-As regards IELTS Speaking Test, I can provide lessons  for students who wants to achieve a score of up to 6.0.
