I am Andrew, I'm from England and live in Milton Keynes which is a large commuter city an hour North of London and between Oxford and Cambridge in the South of the UK

I graduated from the School of Oriental & African Studies in London where I also studied Japanese as part of my degree, I also have the Cambridge TEFL Certificate plus a Diploma in Teaching Business English as well as a Diploma in Teaching english online

I have 5 years expereince teaching English and initially taught in Japan, I have taught English in London, Milton Keynes and online and I have taught most nationalities all levels and General as well as Business /Corporate classes and also 1:1 lessons

My teaching style is focused on speaking fluency, although I am completely felxible, I enjoy working on pronunciation with students and am strong with grammar, I like to use a variety of modern methods, so as well as possibly working with a text or a listening I like to bring in online book widgets such as wordall, padllet and kahoot as well as google forms say for teaching new words / vocabulary. I think that feedback is really important however ways and different timings for feedback are also helpful to allow for fluency and speaking, I am student focused and really love meeting, working with and speaking with new people. In my classes the the main focus is on speaking activities with real world simulations through say role-play, conversations or speaking activities or games, for Beginner and early levels I think it is important to work with various drills as well as growing vocabulary, overall I believe that it is also important to have fun so I am relaxed, detail oriented but like to ensure classes are fun

I do speak a littlle Japanese as I studied at University and lived in Japan and I have kept up my studies for many years since. As well as a passion for teaching English I love learning new languages, I am quite active in Martial arts such as Karate & Jujitsu and I teach Taichi in Milton Keynes, I enjoy going to the cinema and to music concerts plus reading as well as doing water colour paining and pastels of wildlife with a social group near my town
