Hello my amazing students!

🌏 About Me
Hello! My name is Joji, and I’m originally from America. I moved to Japan three years ago and have been teaching English here ever since. I first lived in Kumamoto, and now I’m based in Kawasaki. I speak English, Japanese, and Spanish.

🎓 Teaching Background
I hold a 120-hour TEFL/TESOL Certificate and have three years of teaching experience in Japan. I truly enjoy helping my students learn English—it’s not only about the language, but also about exchanging ideas, exploring cultures, and broadening perspectives from around the world.

🎶 Hobbies & Interests
Outside of teaching, I have a deep passion for music. I sing and play the guitar, drums, and piano. I’m a big fan of Japanese artists such as ONE OK ROCK, Vaundy, and Utada Hikaru—I’ve even had the chance to see ONE OK ROCK perform live in both Japan and America!
In my free time, I enjoy creating my own music in the studio and playing table tennis with my middle school students.

🍣 Favorite Things About Japan
I absolutely love Japanese food—especially ramen, sushi, gyudon, and yakisoba. Living in Japan has been such a rewarding and inspiring experience. I’ve also had the opportunity to travel to places like Korea, Hawaii, Mexico, and across the United States.

💬 My Teaching Philosophy
I believe learning English should be fun, engaging, and meaningful. I enjoy helping my students grow in confidence and curiosity as they learn to express themselves in new ways. My goal is to make every lesson enjoyable while introducing my students to different perspectives of the world and its diverse cultures.
