My name is Michael Duncan, but please call me Mike.  

I am a 23 year old robotics engineer living in Oregon, USA.  I lived in Nara city when I was 16 years old.  I lived in Japan for 3 months.  I enjoy studying, and learning.  I look forward to helping you learn English.  

My favorite things to do or talk about are history, nature, science, mathematics, literature, and games.  

I also enjoy idioms, like "赤い紅葉が棚から落ちる."  The closest English idiom would be "It fell in your lap."

I believe in "comprehensible input," which means speaking and acting so that you can understand, even if you don't know English.  I believe in some memorization, but mostly practice.

English is a great language to learn, it is beautiful and expansive.  It is the most spoken language, so learning English empowers you to communicate with so many people worldwide!

My goal is to help people learn without ever feeling embarrassed for making a mistake.  Before you master anything, you must be courageous enough to fail.
