Hello and Thank you for viewing my profile. My name is Jermaine and I am from the United States. I currently reside in Japan. I have lived in the Kobe/Osake area for 8 months. I have worked as an instructor in teaching English as a second language (ESL) for almost a year now. I have four years of education experience in the United States. Prior to moving to Japan, I have worked for 20 years as a Healthcare professional (Nursing, Healthcare Administration, and Health Information Technology) . I enjoy nature walks, hiking, reading movies, traveling, anime, manga, and comics. I enjoy teaching English because I have an appreciation for learning differnt languages over the years. I have studied Vietnamese, French, Chinese, German, Spanish, Tagalog, and now I am studying Japanese. I offer a patient, enjoyable, professional, and respectful approach to my tutoring sessions. My primary teaching style is a flipped classroom approach where I dedicate more classroom/session time to practicing spoken English. Homework assignments, review work, videos, etc. are reviewed more at home during the student's free time. My philosophy and appraoch to learning English is to ephasize repitition of the student's target language. Through repitition, practice to learn good listening skills, stronger grasp of vocabulary/grammar, etc, the student builds confidence in their ability to utilize spoken English. My strengths includes: pronunciation, grammar, writing, reading, writing, and proofreading. I speacialize in Medical English, Business English, Conversational English, English vocabulary grammar, proofreading, reading and writing for students ranging from intermediate to advance levels.
