Hello! Welcome to my profile. My introduction may be a bit long, but I would like to share with you some of the things that you might want to know about me.
My name is Darlene Marie, but those I’ve taught English to, prefer calling me just Marie similar to the Japanese pronunciation. Currently, it’s the year 2022 and I am 28 years old. I was born on the 28th of February; a Pisces. I was born with really big round eyes, somewhat like a cat eye. Some people say I look like a snob, but I beg to disagree. I’d like to say that I am warm, friendly, and caring, although I am a bit of an introvert myself.
I love reading books and watching movies. I love watching Japanese horror movies such as Ringu and Battle Royale. But my favorite out of all American shows and series’ out there would be a show called FRIENDS.
Here is my favorite book and animation. It’s a story by Neil Gaiman and I also recommend this to those that want to start reading English books.
It also has a stop-motion animation that is just fascinating to watch.
I also enjoy dancing and performing. I may be an introvert but when it comes to performing it’s invigorating that I end up enjoying and losing myself when I am on stage. I was a member of a cultural dance group a few years back and we perform traditional dances known in Philippine culture. Aside from this I also performed and joined gymnastics and ballroom dancing when I was a university student.
I used to join pageants in our city as well as in school.
I live in a province called Batangas. Our province is known for its beautiful mountains and beaches. Also, the smallest volcano in the whole world is found in our province; the Taal Volcano. And it is also known to have one of the best diving spots in Luzon.
I love teaching English. I believe that learning this language which is considered our universal language is not only useful for our jobs, it sets as a bridge towards eliminating conversational barriers. I believe this is a language that can connect all of us around the world. If you want to learn all about pronunciation and grammar, then I look forward to seeing you in my class real soon. Stay safe, and always have a great day ahead.
