Introduction Hi! My name is Jonathan. I'm an American currently living in the Philippines. As a native English speaker, I'd love to help you learn more of my language. Since I've lived outside of my birth country for many years, I've had to learn some of the basics of the languages used locally here in the Philippines. Because of this, I can understand how hard it can be to learn a new language. But don't worry, I'll try to make learning less difficult. I can help you learn many things about English, from pronounciation and vocabulary, to correct grammar and comprehension.
Hobbies In my free time, I enjoy using the internet or books to research and read about many different topics. From history and philosophy, to food and culture. This is because I believe it's good to learn new things to gain more wisdom. Sometimes after reading, I like to write essays to reflect on my thoughts. Other times, if I feel creative, I like to write stories or poetry. Because writing is not only a hobby, but one of my strengths, I can help you also learn things about writing in English to strengthen your English skills beyond speech.
Educational Background When I started college, I began studying a degree in psychology. However, after two years, I shifted to another program. I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication. Through this program I learned about film, media production, and journalism. I decided to go to graduate school after I finished the degree. While taking my master's, I learned about language, literature, and research. I then graduated with a Master of Arts in English. Aside from my education in college, I was also able to obtain a 40 Hour Basic Certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign or Second Language. Currently, I am taking a second master's degree, this time in teaching.
Working Experience For a few years, I've contributed articles, photos, and drawings to local newspapers. In these recent years, I've worked as a freelance English tutor. Currently, aside from helping students learn English, I am employed as a writer for a small health and wellness buisness. |
