Hi! You can call me Netty! I am from Cotabato City- a small city located in the Southern part of Mindanao. I'm a licensed teacher and I have a Bachelor's degree in Secondary Education, Major in English. I also have five years of ESL teaching experience handling Chinese and Japanese Students. In my free time, I like to record songs and post it on Youtube (although I only select the best ones that's why my videos are few) and watch animes and K-dramas. I like cooking meals for my family. Sometimes, I try cooking Japanese and Chinese food even though I am not sure how they actually taste like. Most of all, I like teaching. When I was a kid, I loved acting the role of a teacher whenever we did role plays. I never imagined that I would be passionate about teaching when I grow up. As an ESL teacher, the greatest achievement I can get is to see my students improve their communication skills. I know this will help them become successful in the future. Learning English can be difficult, but I have seen so many students improve in just a year. My teaching strategy is mirroring my students' mood and level of communication. If the student is a beginner/ intermediate, I make sure to speak slowly and ask the student every now and them if he/she is able to keep up with the lesson. If the student is advanced, then I'll keep speaking naturally. One thing I like being an ESL tutor is that I learn something new everyday. Every free talks and sincere conversations I have with my students taught me everything about their culture. Every student has his/her own story to tell so I'm really excited to hear from you soon.
