🌸My name is Skye. I am a South African English teacher who enjoys writing short stories, poetry, watching k-dramas, spending time with animals and taking part in outdoor activities, such as hiking or going to the beach.
🌼However, my true passion is teaching English. Helping students build their self-esteem, expand their knowledgeand achieve their goals makes me incredibly happy and fulfilled.
🌵I try to keep my lessons fun, upbeat and informative. I believe that everybody's learning process is different and try to accomodate that. I am a patient and friendly person who tries my best to make my students feel at ease. 😃
🌺My strengths include correcting grammar and pronunciation, as well as conversational or discussion-based English. I also enjoy helping students with comprehension questions, as this improves their fluency and increases their understanding and vocabulary.
🌾I have been a private English tutor to children and teenagers - some who have had learning difficulties/disabilities (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Attention Deficit Disorder, Non-verbal Learning Disorder, Autistic Spectrum Disorder etc) - since 2015. Since 2021, I have been teaching English as a foreignlanguage, to those as young as 3 years old, and then upwards, which has been one of the most rewarding decisions I have made. I am currently teaching a student who is in the process of obtaining his GED qualification, whose journey started in 2021.
🌹I have obtained a TEFL certificate(teaching English to foreign learners) as well as a qualification in Child Psychology - Managing Development.
