ABOUT ME:

Hello! My name is Minenhle but my friends and family call me "Minnie". I am from South Africa and I am a native English speaker. I recently obtained my degree in Education specializing in English, meaning I am a fully qualified English teacher. I have a very vibrant, warm and welcoming personality which makes it easy for me to interact with people. I am enthusiastic, patient and fun therefore my classroom resonates with my personality. I am passionate about teaching English and I also have a willingness to learn. This simply means that I also am open to learning something from my students in our classroom I love meeting new people and I love learning about different cultures from all around the world. I enjoy reading, cooking and spending time with my family and friends. I am also a makeup artist in my spare time.

TEACHING STYLE:

I take a learner centered approach to teaching which means that every lesson in my classroom is tailored to each student's specific learning needs. In my classroom I encourage progressiveness therefore the teaching styles that I use ensure that my students reach their English learning goals. I make use of scaffolding to assist my students to achieve their desired learning outcomes. A few of my teaching styles are linguistic, interpersonal, visual-spatial and intrapersonal. I have tailored these different teaching styles in order to cater to all my students and their different learning needs. Whether visual, reading and writing or auditory, each student will be engaged accordingly and as per their preference. My strengths as a teacher include effective use of TPR, an ability to use props and visuals effectively, an ability to identify my student's strenths and weaknesses in order to assist them accordingly and scaffolding challenging concepts.
