Sorrounded by a greenery covered with snow I felt besieged by a snowy world. I looked down from the window of my cramped apartment, kids were sliding down a snowy ramp with sleds but before I knew it the snow vanished and the kids either. Rose thank you for the year-round lessons. I really appreciate it. Happy New Year and stay healthy and blessed! |

Many times when people watch a movie or drama series and then the sequel, they think the sequel pales in comparison to the first one. Or when you read a book and then watch the movie adaptation, you think the movie pales in comparison to the book. Do you consent to me? |

Today we discussed about food waste problems. Rosemay kindly introduced three articles about this issues. We shared the food waste situation both in the Philippines and in Japan and discussed the causes and impacts of food waste. It was really a good exercise for me. Thank you, Rosemay! See you! |

A few days ago I read an article in a newspaper about the increase in part-time employment causes a decline in birthrate. Part-time workers with a low and unstable income are less likely to have a baby. There`s no doubt that and one more thing is their low income undermine Japanese domestic consumption. They have difficult to obtain a loan from banks to purchase their houses wich dampen the Japanese economy. I think it happens cos there are many loopholes in the law that benefit the companies to reduce labor costs and thus increase their profits. If the birthrate continuous to decrease Japanese companies or Japan will have to pay for it later at any rate. They are asking for it. Not counting the foreigners apprentices problem the government is facing now. |

In Japan we have the dilemma of should job promotions be based on perfomance or on seniority? Even in overseas Japanese companies maintain their systems, that is to say, seniority. A seniority based on promotions structure can eliminate the perceptions of favoritism. Employers typically won`t have to worry about a newer worker comong in and quickly leapfrogging them to obtain a promotion simply cause they are friends with an upper-level supervisor or cause they are more effective at playing the game of corporate politics. Promotion based on seniority can also help maintains a more harmonious workplace and it helps to develop team work among them. I know that perfomance -based promotion system will increase employees work efficiency and productivity. Nevertheless, I think we Japanese like to huddle together and do the things, therefore, seniority fits to us. |

Should capital punishment be abolished? I have always been on the fence about the death penalty. Capital punishment has the risk of executing innocent people. Thinking of the victim`s parents and family, the murderer deserve to die for murdering. One thing I assure, that is they need to pay for murdering at any rate. Suffering in jail for the rest of their lives without parole rotting in jail or by the death penalty. Thinking of the cost, death penalty can cost more than keeping one criminal incarcerated cause of the long complex legal procedures. What` your choice? |

Foul weather is the word I would say to define today. Stuck in my cramped apartment but it definetily had a silver lining. I could cram for Eigox lesson. Today we talked about bringe drinking, take a swig of beer, turning in a state of elation, blurt someone name and get this person into a scrape, lawyers have to acquit a defendant at any rate, athlete should retire at the apex of their career, take a beating in the bout, handgas are addendum to magazine, bovver boy, wonky boy, co-worker foist his work on someone, slash at passersby with a knife, teaching grammar takes precedence over speaking or vice-versa, set a named hour to a delivery in a courier company, protruded eyes, mandatory furlough, derelict bycicles, meditation mishap taint reputation, have a sudden onrush of sadness, pernicious business, rapacious eaters, eke out a living doing odd jobs, students swarmed in the school yard and a rat fly toward your face and you leaned well back and the rat glance off your face.Thanks. |

What is a workplace power harassment? According to a labor ministry of Japan, action now officially considered power harassment include violence and physical ofenses, mental abuse such as threats and verbal assaults, segregations, treating workers coldly, demanding the impossible and forcing works to engage in activities beyond the scope of their duties. Unfortunately, for many employees those action may sound like a typical day at the office. Companies need to stablish clear guidelines. Bosses need to be more aware of their actions and the effect they have on their subordinates, workers who suffer or witness power harassment need to repot it. Companies should undertand that power harassment is bad for productivity. I hope all companies in Japan address these workplaces as soon as possible. |

Cold is the word I would say to fit today in Japan. Today we talked about poignant stories, omnivores, herbivores, make a trap to decoy birds into it, get my hands on much informations, men are always upper hand at work than women? Bunglers we were, be attuned to the fashion or frumpy, vicarious, give away, spoiler, tenet of families, sobriety test, novelty things we snap up, Eigox tutors are entrenched in Japanese life, hit the ground running to bust out of a rut, be emboldened by someone to commit a crime, If we were a president of a big company we wouldn`t staff our relatives in the top echelon and much more. Rose thank for today`s lesson. Lovely as always. Have a great week. |

As the Christmas draws near, ilumiantion in the streets, shopping malls are springing up ,we are so pumped to see it, whereas others are just feeling growing old. We talked about be under constraint to do something, feel constraint, make someone tick, jury-rig to make do with some situations, pound kids on their butts, tapping into students private lives is easier to teach English, endorse president, warriors, conjure up, adolescents always put their complaints as letdown, setbacks to their parents, shrug off mistake or dwell on it, riffling through the drawer and much more. I can safely say that Rose is a tremendous tutor. Rose thank you for today`s lesson. See you soon. |

Thank you for a lesson. OK, I'll have to say "lighter" instead of "more lighter." Thank you. Today is the anniversary of John Lennon's death. I'm listening to his tunes. Have a good weekend! See you soon! |
