I had another great class with Bill. Before starting the article about Taliban's recent crackdown on the opium poppies in Afghanistan, we discussed a wide variety of issues including ergonomically designed furniture, regenerative medicine, guinea pigs and more. Bill always makes my day. Until next time!! |

We started the lesson with small talk: the progress of my new house and how the pandemic and the war pushed up its cost. He told me about the prospect of a cease-fire, which can lead to price decreases. And we also shared what we would have done if we were in the shoes of Will Smith on the Oscar Award. And then, as I had requested Bill to check my essay on online shopping, we got into it. I read it aloud by a paragraph, and Bill made some corrections and changes so that the essay got more natural, specific, and convincing. Lastly, he gave me his view on online shopping, and it reminded me that I had lacked the viewpoint that shopping at local stores means supporting local communities. He also shared a joke that is linked to online shopping by a popular American comedian. Thank you, Bill. You always boost my mood. See you soon. |

As usual, I had a wonderful time with Bill. We discussed a wide range of topics including our unaffordable things, Will Smith's behavior at the Oscars, rising living cost in the UK, and more. I really like talking with Bill. He always brings out the best in students. Thanks Bill, and see you next time. |

Effervescent lesson! We talked about brave protesters like Marina Ovsyannikova in Russia, and related issues. I love the open atmosphere he brings for students. Thanks, and see you next time. |

Bill and I discussed the pros and cons of four-day workweek systems this morning. Firstly, I recited my argument, and then he played devil's advocate. He made some critical questions and counterarguments. I could manage to answer them, I'd say. Then, our topic developed into how to maintain productivity while on the work. I brought up one technique called the "Pomodoro Technique" but had trouble explaining the system in English. Bill got straight my scattered explanation, which was probably gibberish, and reconstructed and typed it onto our chat window. I realized I still frequently faltered when I faced something I'd never talked about. |

Excellent class, as always!! We started with a small talk about his lunch and my physical condition. It's a good way to use everyday English smoothly. After that we went on to the article about the war in Ukraine. This may be a touchy topic, but we had a productive and informative time together. He also taught me some useful words and expressions in the article to apply to my real life. I really like the way he teaches! Until next time! |

Today, I had a class with Bill and talked about the current events in the world. We started by catching up on my trip to the Ise shrine and shared some info. And then, we got into the Russian invasion of Ukraine. I guess my speech might have slightly gone off Bill's intention because my focus was mainly on the volatility of the world's stock markets and how it would affect my assets. But, I do hope the world peace and the war settle down soon, of course. I didn't intend to get our conversation centered around money, but this was an English lesson where I practice English conversations until I can express everything about myself, so I brought up money things. Bill gave me his idea about the difference between gambling and investment, which contained lots of words and expressions that I would find helpful when talking about thoughts on them. Thank you for another great lesson, Bill. See you soon! |

Wonderful class, as usual! First, I wanted to talk about international affairs, but events on the ground are changing rapidly and it was difficult to decide an article in advance. So we studied the article about koalas. It turned out to be really interesting and productive. Bill always brings any topic to life with his skill!! Looking forward to our next class. |
