I was given the opportunity to conduct a lesson with Youtuber, Hana English!
She is Japanese and a native English speaker with a ton of useful videos for learning English!
Our video is about common misused words, used by English learners, with natural alternatives:

Hello and welcome to my profile!
My name is Serge Edmund Libid Villa!
You can call me Serge
I was born and raised in London, UK.
Teaching Experience:
In 2017, I stayed in Japan with a working-holiday visa for a year.
During my stay, I worked at an Eikaiwa in Tokyo, where I taught a wide variety of Japanese students.
Students I taught included; children, school students, university students, working professionals, housewives and retirees.
This experience taught me how to adapt my teaching style to each student and I was able to learn a lot about Japanese culture!
Prior Work Experience:
Before spending a year in Japan, I worked as an accountant.
My first company job after university was working for a Japanese food wholesaler in UK.
Working at this company taught me a lot about Japanese work culture and it is where I adopted a lot of work habits (how to write a professional email, speaking on the phone, presentation skills)
With knowledge of both UK and Japanese work culture, I am able to teach business English effectively to students.
Motivation as an English teacher:
Teaching gave me a social interaction that my previous jobs didn't have.
I really enjoyed meeting new students and felt a sense of achievement seeing my students reach their goals in English learning (passing an exam, improving language, enjoying learning English).
This is what keeps me wanting to teach English.
Strengths as an English teacher:
I have an amiable personality and my teaching style is flexible but effective.
Since the beginning of my career, I have had a lot of exposure to Japanese culture.
This would make it easier for me to communicate and connect with my students.
My previous company experiences are also beneficial for those looking to improve their English on a Business English level.
Hobbies and Interests:
I used to enjoy travelling to different countries and experiencing different cultures through food and arts. I have been lucky enough to travel many countries, including:
Ireland (one of 3 places in the world with a gold standard for stargazing)
Canada, Vancouver (friendly people and great natural scenery)
Turkey, Istanbul and Cappadocia (beautiful mosques and mountains)
Hong Kong (great architecture and shopping areas)
Germany, Baden baden to Dresden to Dusseldorf (Christmas markets and white snow)
France, Paris and Nice (romantic city sites and amazing cuisine)
Italy, Rome (beautiful city streets and gigantic historic monuments and statues)
Japan (so many great experiences to share, truly an amazing place)
My guilty pleasure is singing karaoke(a pass time I learnt from my first job) and dancing ( I used to dance a lot in university).
Recently during the pandemic, I have been more interested in health and self-improvement.
I have taken up body building and enjoy doing martial arts.
I am also trying to improve my Japanese by learning through habit and immersion (regular review and listening to Japanese media/news/podcasts)
To conclude:
Thank you for taking the time to read my profile.
Hopefully I can provide the teaching experience you are looking for!
Can't wait to meet you and together let's improve!
