I took two lessons in a row. This lesson's topic was rules, laws, and punishment. I talked about consumption tax and noodles. I also discussed parole - if people get parole, they are allowed to leave prison early but are only permitted to remain free as far as they decently behave. Sometimes it takes time to think about a colossal question such as "do people in your country follow the rules?" Having said that, this is a very good exercise. I appreciate your lesson, Xandra!

We enjoyed a free talk. Our topic was an interesting conversation. I introduced my online talk with my friend, who introduced a professor to me. I also appreciate your grammatical corrections, which rare tutors provide. Since I often make grammatical mistakes, it is constructive for me to have feedback such as singulars and plurals from you.

Thank you, Xandra! I talked about foreigners. First, we discussed whether or not it is easy to make friends in general. Then, I was asked about a foreign acquaintance who I did not like very much - although I had never thought about it, I could narrowly answer the question. On top of that, I learned many useful expressions such as "for research," "precious advice," "unknown people," "scam," "fraudster," "too critical of Japan," "I'm specifically interested in Chinese literature," "more specifically." I also appreciate your correction, as always.

We practiced IELTS speaking. Today's topic was traveling. First, we talked about my trip to the U.S. - several years ago, I visited the Smithsonian Museum. If I remember it correctly, there are two parts of the museum: airplane and nature. Then we discussed the negative impact caused by international tourists who visit Japan - before the COVID-19 pandemic, the gradual increase of foreigners sometimes bothered local people.
